Real Name and Takhlus

Hazrat Amir khusro's real name was Abdul Hassan Yamin-ud-Din Khusrow and known as Amir Khusro Dehlawi. In Urdu (ابو الحسن یامین الدین خسرو) in hindi (अमीर खुसरो)
He  was a great ancient Sufi,  intellectual skilled of many languages, a prolific author, an artist, a flexible composer, a great and genius musician who first invented "sitar", and a real devoted "mureed" of his sanctity. He was the highly superb mixture Divine gifts.

Early Life and Background

Hazrat Amir Khusro (R.A) was the son of  Amir Saif-ud-Din Mehmood a Turk of Lacheen Hazara. At the invasion of Changez Khan (Genghis Khan) He migrated from his Hometown Kesh near Samarkand to Balkah. Saif-ud-Din was chieftain of Hazara. Shams-ud-Din. Altamish the empire od Delhi welcomed them to his country.

Amir Saif-ud-Din married Bibi Daulat Naz, who bore him four children, three sons and one daughter. Amir Khusro was one among them born in the year 1252-53 CE at Patiyali ( Hazrat Amir khusro Nagar ). His father Saif-ud-Din died in 1260 CE.

Hazrat Amir Khusro was an intelligent child. Poetry came to him at his early age of eight years. After the Death of his Father, He came to Delhi to his Grandfather's Custody Imdaul Mulk (Rawat Arz) house. He Grew under his guardianship. When He was twenty years old, his grad father passed away in 1271 CE at the age of 113 years. Then an other double tragedy was wating to struck him, In in 1299 AD his beloved mother and brother died. On the death of Mother and brother He Cried like a little child

Life and Career

After all this, He buried his sorrow into the power of melody and verse. He Sought permission to his master Chajju khan and went with his new patron Bughara Khan. Where he served for four years and came to reputation. In 667 A.H he came back to Dehli. Eldest son  Khan Muhammad of Balban   (who was in multan) came to Dehli and heard about Amir Khusro and he invited him to his court. Finally He accomapnied with Khan Muhammad  to Multan in 679 A.H (1279A.D). At that time Multan was the gateway to Hindustan and center place for learning and knowledge.
In the year 1283 A.D (683 A.H) Jinar Khan of Mongol, attacked india. Khan Muhammad was killed in this battle trying to stop the invasion. After some years Kind Balban's death his grand son nominated for Monarchy and made king of Delhi who was 17 years old.
After the death of Kikabad, there was no who took power so at least a turk solidier Jalaludin Khilki took pwer bacame king of Dehli. He was also poet and loved poets. In his Darbar Khusro was highly honured and respected and was known as "Amir Khusro"
Work
He wrote a short auto-biographical Masnavi called "Shah Name Mun" of Allauddin's life
Alauddin khilji was on of the great ruler of India in Delhi. He was hard in nature,strong man,brave and intelligent soldeir. Alauddin Expanded his empire to Deccan in south and for West and East.
Hazrat Amir Khusro penned down Allauddin's wars,constructiom works,security,peace,administrative services in his book "Khazinatul-Fathu" (The Treasures of victory)
Another poetical book masnavi "Matta-ul-Anwaar" had the theme of  "Love of God" consist of 3310 verses completed in  15 days. His second masnavi, "Shireen" was consist of 4000 verses. The third masnavi was "Laila Majnu" which is about story of Laila and Majnu. His fourth biggest Masnavi was "Aina-e-Sikandri" which was consist of 4500 verses relevant to heroic deeds  Sikandar the great (Alexander). The fifth masnavi was "Hasht Bahisht" relevant to the events of Kind Bahram Gaur. The great king Allauddin Khilji was much pleased by his works and rewarded him.
After death of Alauddin Khilji, his son Autubdiiin Mubarak Shah became ruler. Hazrat Amir Khusro wrote a Nasnavi on Mubarak Shah "Nashi Pahar" (nine skies), a historical poetry related with the events of Mubarak shah. In this Masnavi He had wrote about environment, the atmosphere and seasons,flowers,beauty etc etc.
He wrote another longest book in period of Qutubddin by name "Ejaze Khusravi", this book was consist of  five volumes.
After death of Mubrak shah, Ghayasuddin Tughlq took the Monarchy.  He wrote a Masnavi on him named as "Tughlaq Name". All the king of their time, honoured him as jewel of their crown.
Hazrat Abdul Hassan Yamin-ud-Din Khusrow was served under 7 Kings.He was Also an astronmer and an astrologer.
He had started to write "Thughluq Nama", then Sultan Mummad bin Tughluq come to power in 1325.
He Passed Away in 1325 CE
He was a prolific classical poet associated with more than seven rulers of Delhi Sultans. He is still respected in Pakistan,India and by lovers of poetry, Sufi Music literary output and folk personality.
